Andrea Marcolongo

Andrea Marcolongo has a degree in Classical Literature from the University of Milan and she also studied storytelling at Scuola Holden. She became known for her book La lingua geniale (The Ingenious Language – nine epic reasons to love Greek), which advocates reasons for learning Ancient Greek. It became a bestseller and has been translated into several

languages. As of February 2018, the book had sold 200,000 copies. The Guardian said that Marcolongo makes a “convincing case for Greek’s singularly expressive power” and she shows us “new ways of seeing and understanding the world.”
