Marie G. Rohde

Marie G. Rohde grew up in Sweden, surrounded by books, fabrics, artist’s materials, and a subscription to the Puffin Post. Her family was early adopters of reducing, reusing, and recycling.

When studying architecture, she realised that she enjoyed more imagining/ illustrating life within the projects than actually finishing them. After presenting her diploma, she switched to illustration and textile print design with all the ups and downs of being freelance. She relocated to Barcelona after an exchange year, that left her spellbound by the cultural life.

Some years ago, she had an idea for a book. A life of different studies and interests came together in True Monsters once she managed to fight off all her doubts about being able to pull it through.
