Description

Flip through the pages and dive down to 3,900 meters, the average depth of the oceans.

Why is the sea blue and not yellow or red?

We perceive this vast mass of salt water as blue because blue is the color that reaches the greatest depth. Light penetrates up to 200 meters deep, but not all colors are present at this depth. Red disappears at 10 meters, yellow at 30 meters. So, if a red star is located 20 meters below the surface, we will perceive it as green. The deeper it is, the fewer colors remain. Blue is the last color to disappear; after that, darkness takes over.
